About Us

Looking for your next Alaska-themed project? Find fabrics, cross-stitch, patterns, and gifts galore that celebrate Alaska in all its splendor, nestled in the G Street Arts District in downtown Anchorage.

We're a cozy store with over 800 bolts of delightful Alaska prints and luscious, versatile batiks. We feature the work of local artisans from around the state and carry many exclusive fabrics, yarns, and patterns by talented Alaskan artists. You can find moose, bear, otter, and salmon prints, along with orca whales and totem poles celebrating Southeast Alaskan culture and traditions. Check out our floral and landscape fabrics for those lovely projects like aprons, pillowcases, and purses. Soak in the radiant rainbow of batiks from Hoffman, Robert Kaufman, Island Batiks, Cotton Classics, Exclusively Quilters, for all your quilt-design dreams.

Our sister store Wooly Mammoth carries Alaska hand-dyed yarns for various projects, including rare musk ox yarn (known locally as “qiviut”, pronounced kiv-ee-oot) form North Pole, Alaska.

Stop by to brainstorm your own projects with our incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. We love helping you design your projects.

We can't wait to meet you!
